One kilometre north of the Chintsa Bay Beach Club lies the Inkwenkwezi Game Reserve. Being situated in the Eastern Cape it is malaria free. The reserve has an area of one hundred square kilometres encompassing five different biomes (vegetation types) which offer varied game viewing. It is one of the few reserves with a tidal estuary. The reserve has all five of the big five animals (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino and Elephant) and a variety of antelope as well as giraffe, zebra & other predators.
At the reserve, you can leave your car and your responsibilities behind
as you are transported by 4x4 through a tunnel of indigenous bush, out onto the open plains.
You will experience true tranquility as you view the abundance of wildlife from the Reserve's open-topped 4x4 vehicles. Game viewing can be enjoyed either in the morning or afternoon game drive. The tour includes a drive through a lion reserve as well as a refreshment stop, where a complimentary light refreshment can be enjoyed.
The Emthombeni restaurant offers an elegant African dining experience complemented by authentic African decor. High thatched roofs blend with the rich stone flooring creating the ambience of a mysterious & exciting Africa. Meals can be enjoyed inside the restaurant or on the elevated timber viewing deck with glimpses of the Indian Ocean & the African bush.
